La Venta Hotel

Pet Friendly, clean, hurricane season so the grounds were flooded. We loved the beach here 7 years ago so many sand dollars. Shallow beach. Nice pool comfy beds. We traveled a bit out of our way because of the previous great service.

Great beach views, very nice accomodations for the cost

I appreciated the quality of the accomodation. It was very clean, kind and accomodating staff, good breakfast and coffee options (capuccino by request + extra fee), HVAC worked well, elevators a luxury, secure rooms, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, great views from rooms, adjacent to beach access, adjacent to a few businesses but still close to town center

Great pet friendly hotel with a sea view!

The hotel is very modern, everything was clean, room is spacious enough, good size TV, shower has hot water in an instant and very good pressure, breakfast is good with quite a few options, pet friendly and the staff is kind!

The mattress really needs to be changed. We changed rooms because the first mattress was like a soft air mattress and the second room wasnt a lot better. I can imagine its a big expense but an uncomfortable bed can really ruin any trip.

Quiet, comfortable stay.

The breakfast buffet was very good. I think we were the only English speakers in the hotel but the staff were super patient and helpful. Although we did not get a chance to use the pool, it was inviting and a plus.

Location, but we knew it was a bit isolated at the end of the beach. If you have a vehicle then this isn't a problem, otherwise it is a long walk to get to places to eat. Also beach access is not nearby.

Wonderful

Absolutely amazingly comfortable beds, also good size and soft linen and pillows. Loved the layout of the rooms, we had a double and a suite. Large area for breakfast, food and drinks with good flavor. Easy access to the parking lot. Convenient location. The front desk staff was super kind and helpful.

We went to the breakfast area with one hour before it was going to close and there was not enough food for even 1 person and we were 7, I asked the serving staff how long it would take to have the food ready and they said they wouldn't prepare more. But then they did at different times and replenish everything at the end. I really don't understand why they had such bad communication with the kitchen and us, and they didn't even apologize about it. If I didn't stay waiting, I would have missed it.

exctrememly clean and comfortable

My room was very clean. The mattress was amazing and I actually slept a dull night! The complementary shampoo was also excellent. I enjoyed the soup (chicken) and the complementary breakfast (especially the tamales when they were hot).

The price of beer was over the top & one of the weight staff was not particularly great at his job. Not much to say negative about the place.

Beds were comfortable, good lighting either side of the bed. The breakfast (included) was passable because we had such low expectations, even though there (like reception) one person was doing all the work and the others just watching him and chatting and ignoring guests.

Worst check in- there was a queue of people waiting for a woman checking people in excruciatingly slowly. There was a guy there who could have been checking people in (I saw him doing so the next day when there was no queue) but instead was shuffling papers and moving them from one pile to another. Obviously far more important than helping hotel guests. It took nearly half an hour of standing there to check in. They left only one towel for two of us. There was no hand towel by the basin. After asking twice for more they gave us one more bath towel and said there was a limit of two towels per room. The basin was separate from the shower so we had to leave a bath towel for our hands. Honestly how difficult is it to provide a hand towel? This hotel was not the cheapest! And with Covid it’s horrible to expect people to use the same towel for hands as they use for feet and other parts! The pillows were hard, huge and unusable. The TV was wonky, the blind fell down when we tried to close it and we couldn’t raise it. The walls were scuffed. The location isn’t near anything useful and they gave us a view of the parking lot so we didn’t even get the advantage of a sea view. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
